For 2021, TAIWANfest Toronto presents one online presentation and two online performances:

Re-Think Asia – August 27 to September 6, 2021
This year’s TAIWANfest includes Woodland Cultural Centre’s presentation of a virtual tour of the Mohawk Institute Indian Residential School, a conversation by Michael Hollett, the founder of NXNE talking about independent music, and author Ann Choi discussing her upbringing as a Korean-Canadian and the influence of confucianism.

New World – August 27, 2021 at 7pm
A grand virtual performance led by Maestro Ken Hsieh, who returns to TAIWANfest after his touching performance at last year’s “The Survived” during the COVID-19 pandemic. Alongside Maestro Hsieh, musicians of the TAIWANfest Orchestra will share their journey in music. Take this opportunity to connect with local musicians in a brand new way unlike concerts that have come before.

Wandering Melodic Road – August 28, 2021 at 7pm
TAIWANfest welcomes The Tune, reaching us virtually from South Korea for their interactive concert “Wandering Melodic Road”. The Tune is an all-female music group. Unlike other pop music groups, they use traditional Korean instruments along with modern keyboards to create new Asian music fusion. It’s an event not to be missed if you like fusion music.
