TO Live hosts their fun Summer Camp again this year at the Meridian Arts Centre in the heart of North York. Here, kids can participate in three full weeks of artistic activities with a different focus each session, so it’s a new, unforgettable experience each time! In this art-based summer camp series, young artists can unlock their creativity, whether they are interested in theatre, music, dance, or visual art. Led by practicing professional artists, kids can engage with the world of the performing arts in these action-packed day camps.
For three weeks in August, families can choose from two programs: Mural Art and Hip-Hop Dance in Week 1, Music and Theatre in Week 2, and Comic Camp and Ballet Dance in Week 3. Of course, if your child loves all forms of creative expression, they can join all of these exciting camps! In all of these programs, the kids can further their creative education and become part of Toronto’s vibrant artistic community as they receive first-hand knowledge from our city’s talented theatrical professionals. By the end of the week, the kids will have learned new skills, gained confidence, and made unforgettable memories.
Kids Learn from Professional Artists at TO Live’s Summer Camp!
Kids can have fun artistic adventures over three weeks this August at TO Live‘s summer camp, where participants explore two art forms per week! In fact, practising artists and performers act as camp instructors to guide the campers through fun activities in their particular area of expertise. So, don’t miss the chance to help inspire your child’s creativity at their summer camp at the versatile, modern, and expansive Meridian Arts Centre!
Camps include classes in two age groups: the Junior team for younger kids aged 5-8 and the Senior team for older kids aged 8-12. With age-appropriate activities and programs created for kids’ developmental stages, the young creators learn from exciting and creative lessons in a supportive setting.
Week 1: Mural Art and Hip-Hop Dance (August 10-14)
Kids, get ready for an exciting summer camp where young performers stay busy, get creative and have fun! Beginning with the Mural Art and Hip-Hop Dance camp week, the campers keep busy with art experiments and a group project, and also stay active dancing.
Mural Art Activities:
- Painting and drawing techniques
- Co-creating a mural project
- Mixed-media experiments
Hip-Hop Dance Activities:
- Learning hip-hop techniques and history
- Creating group choreography
- Improvised dance games
Week 2: Music and Theatre (August 17-21)
In the second week, the campers explore both Music Theatre and Visual Art, two art forms that are a perfect fit! Not only do the campers learn about the fundamentals of music theory, but they also get to create short performance pieces.

- Introductory music theory
Theatre Activities:
- Improvisation games

Week 3: Comic Camp and Ballet Dance (August 24-28)
TO Live continues their creative summer camps with the fascinating combination of comics and ballet, fostering artistic expression and teamwork!

- Traditional movement and ballet forms
- Creating group choreography
- Improvisation games
Comic Camp Activities:
- Creating comic storylines and characters
- Planning and then drawing the story
- Exploring visual storytelling techniques

Fees: $350.00 per person per week (no HST)
Extended Care — Families can maximize the summer camp fun with extended care in the afternoon from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
