This Valentine’s Day, Celebrate with Your “True Love” at This Heartwarming Performance!
With “The Princess Bride in Concert”, the TSO lets you experience one of the most loved films of all time like never before. Conducted by Nicholas Buc, the lively action matches the iconic soundtrack composed by Mark Knopfler, also known as the lead guitarist, singer and songwriter of the rock band Dire Straits. Even better, his sweeping music has been specially arranged so audiences can feel the power of a full symphony orchestra performing the entire musical score live-to-picture!
This classic adventure film is perfect for you to share with the people you love most, and it’s also a great introduction to the symphony for first-timers. So, don’t miss this unforgettable event, filled with sword fights, giants, miracles, and a love that conquers all! Complete with sweet nostalgia and spectacular music, “The Princess Bride in Concert” is sure to remind you of what really matters: true love and real friendship.

Mawage, that blessed awangement, that dweam wifin a dweam.
And wuv, tru wuv, will fowow you foweva. So, tweasure your wuv.” — The Impressive Clergyman
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra presents “The Princess Bride in Concert“. Believe your Grandpa, this family-friendly movie has everything: “fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles…”
The great Peter Falk portrays the narrator of this romantic tale about Buttercup and Westley, a beautiful maiden and a young farmhand who fall in love. However, after Westley is captured by a ruthless pirate and presumed dead, and Buttercup is forced into an unhappy marriage with the horrible Prince Humperdinck, all seems lost. But then, on the wedding day, it’s up to a mysterious Man in Black to come to her rescue, with help from his friends, a vengeful swordsman and a kind giant.
Directed by the legendary Rob Reiner, “The Princess Bride in Concert” lets audiences relive this fantasy adventure comedy film with an all-star cast. It features Robin Wright and Cary Elwes as Buttercup and Westley, Mandy Patinkin and André the Giant as Inigo Montoya and Fezzik, Wallace Shawn as Vizzini, Chris Sarandon and Christopher Guest as Prince Humperdinck and Count Rugen, Billy Crystal and Carol Kane as Miracle Max and Valerie, plus Fred Savage and Peter Falk as The Grandson and The Grandfather.
Make this year a Valentine’s weekend to remember because, as Miracle Max reminds us, “true love is the greatest thing in the world” (except for maybe a nice MLT, of course).
