In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, the second instalment in the Harry Potter series, wizard-in-training Harry Potter returns to school for his second year. That is, despite dramatic warnings by a house-elf named Dobby. Once at Hogwarts, Harry and his friends discover that someone has opened the Chamber of Secrets! Personnel and students are turning up petrified, and bloody writings begin appearing on the school walls. Meanwhile, Harry keeps hearing a mysterious voice, seemingly coming from inside the castle. With the possibility of school closure and with the Heir of Slytherin re-emerging from the past, Harry, Ron and Hermione must uncover the dark force terrorizing the school.
