Not only is this space open every day year-round, but the Brick Works is also a kid-friendly space where both citizens and visitors can stroll and explore, participate and play, eat and shop, and connect in all four seasons.

Conveniently located between Downtown Toronto and the Danforth/East York area, Evergreen Brick Works is easy to access by car, foot, bike, public transit, and even a free shuttle bus from the Broadview Subway Station Parkette!

Saturday, February 14

8:00 AM – Dusk: Children’s Garden

Kids love to get their hands dirty as they discover the natural world. The Children’s Garden is a natural oasis in the heart of the city, where kids can explore and connect with nature, seven days a week! This vibrant space is a 14,000-square-foot outdoor children’s play area, bringing kids together to explore nature and community.

9:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Indoor Saturday Farmer’s Market

One of Toronto’s most cherished ongoing food events, the Saturday Farmers Market takes place year-round, both outdoors in warm months and indoors at the TD Future Cities Centre in winter. Here, you can meet people from across the city as well as local Ontario farmers and producers, offering the best seasonal food you’ll find in the city!

11:00 AM & 1:00 PM: History Tours

Take an hour-long tour to learn about our fascinating city, walking across the industrial site and into the Brick Works’ historic buildings. This tour explains how Evergreen reclaimed this industrial facility and developed an award-winning environmental community centre and green-technology showcase.

1:00 PM – 6:00 PM (weather permitting): Free Public Skate

Families can take part in a free skating party every winter weekend at Evergreen Brick Works’ Koerner Gardens! The paths weave through snow-covered gardens, set under the exposed beams of the old brick factory roof. With the roof open, this unique indoor-outdoor experience becomes Toronto’s most magical ice skating rink!

2:30 PM – 6:30 PM: Ontario Science Centre Pop-up Activation

Enjoy hands-on science activities for kids and families, hosted by the Ontario Science Centre!

6:30 PM: Free Indoor Winter Movie Nights — “Little Women”

On the last presentation of their Free Indoor Winter Movie Nights series, Evergreen Brick Works presents “Little Women”! Directed by Greta Gerwig, this adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s novel stars Saoirse Ronan, Timothée Chalamet, Florence Pugh and Emma Watson. Get cozy with your family to enjoy kid-friendly movies, purchase snacks and drinks at the Evergreen Bar.
