In this performance, you will hear both traditional carols and beautiful contemporary holiday pieces. Led by the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir Artistic Director, Maestro Jean-Sébastien Vallée, this performance is sure to warm hearts and lift spirits through its stunning musical arrangements. Making its World Premiere is “The Treasures”, a new commission by Canadian Composer-in-Residence Stephanie Martin. Inspired by the poetry of Anne of Green Gables author Lucy Maud Montgomery, the piece reflects on the simple joys of the Christmas season.
Featuring pianist Irene Gregorio, organist Jonathan Oldengarm, and the bountiful choir of 160 joyful singers, “Festival of Carols” is a beloved December tradition.
