The Maker Bean’s Kids Tech Camps
The safety of the children and staff is the #1 priority at The Maker Bean. They’ve implemented strict safety precautions, including masks supported for kids and facilitators, large-room HEPA air purifier, limited camp sizes, daily temperature screening and daily sanitizing of all equipment and surfaces. With these precautions in place, they ensure a safe environment for your child to learn and make new friends!
The Maker Bean is also proud to be an inclusive and positive space for everyone, and children of all backgrounds and gender identities are welcome in the camps.
Let your kids join the Maker Bean community of young makers as they learn new tech skills and have fun! Their seven-week tech camps will have them learn laser cutting, 3D printing, coding and other skills as they work towards a final project.
Kids 6-12 years old, both experienced and new makers alike, can start or continue your child’s journey of learning, fun and friendship. A snack program for all camp days can be added on too, which is a yummy mix of items such as fruit, carrot sticks, oatmeal cookies and natural juice.
There are three weekly sessions to choose from:
- After-School Club: Thursdays 3:30-6pm, starting September 15 — Kids can arrive anytime after 3:30, and will start the day’s activities when they arrive
- Saturday Morning Camp: Saturdays 10am-12pm, starting September 17
- Saturday Afternoon Camp: Saturdays 1-3pm, starting September 17
Your child can spend their PA Day making things, friends and memories while learning tech skills! Using tools such as laser cutters, 3D printers & wood-working tools, and with one laptop per child, your children will create something straight out of their imaginations.
Next happening on September 6, this camp is available for kids 6-12 years old, for both experienced and new makers alike. Each day has a different theme, so you can sign your child up for multiple camps, and they won’t repeat the same activity. Kids also head outdoors for at least 1.5 hours per day to Dufferin Grove or Dovercourt Park for active games and fresh air.
