The York-Durham Heritage Railway has numerous types of themed train trips this spring and summer. For families, there are excursions dedicated to Mother’s Day, princesses, children’s entertainment, the wild west and teddy bears!

You can ride comfortably in one of York-Durham Heritage Railway’s vintage trains to and from the Town of Uxbridge, through the beautiful Oak Ridges Moraine between Uxbridge and Stouffville.

Selected Spring/Summer 2022 Schedule:

Mother’s Day Tea (May 6-8)
Take a step back in time, as white-gloved waiters serve up a first-class high tea experience. Filled with live instrumental music, fresh table linens, and a menu that will leave you dreaming about the days of the past.

Brunch Buffet & Train Ride (May 14, July 3 & August 7)
Come onboard the historic train with your friends and family for a traditional brunch buffet. YDHR has all the family favourites: pancakes, waffles, custom omelettes, and many other amazing goodies you would find in mom’s kitchen.

Bippity Boppity Princess Tea Party (May 21-22)
A royal decree has been made, and Prince Charming has sent an invitation to all of the princesses in the kingdom to attend this years’ Bippity Boppity Tea Party.

Winnie’s Train Festival (June 4-12)
For the first time ever, the most beloved bear is coming to Uxbridge so come for a ride through the hundred-acre Oak Ridges Moraine onboard the historical train to meet Winnie and friends. Enjoy activities such as a bouncy castle, hayride, and a hay maze.

Wild West Adventure Train Robbery for the Whole Family (June 18-26)
Go back in time as you blaze a new trail surrounded by saloons, sheriffs, and cowboys. Embark on a one-hour train ride that is transporting gold for the Bank of Canada. But, be careful, because you never know when bandits are going to board the train!

Paw Patrol on Rails (July 9-10)
Ryder and his friends are coming! They bring the fun that happens at Adventure Bay for an exciting big Paw Patrol celebration. This two-hour jam-packed event is filled with a dance party, sing-alongs, and of course the opportunity to meet your favourite Paw Patrol friends.

Sesame Street On Rails (July 16-17)
Your friendly neighbours from Sesame Street spend a weekend at YDHR, including a meet & greet with Elmo and Cookie Monster, story-time with the conductors, sing-a-longs, colouring activities and a special tasty gift for each child… but make sure Cookie Monster doesn’t see it!

Summer Teddy Bear Day (July 30)
Kids 12 and under who bring their Teddy Bear or favourite stuffie on-board ride the train for only $3.99! Dr. Bear will be riding the train to give your child’s Teddy Bear or stuffie a check-up and a clean bill of health. Enjoy on-board entertainment while waiting for the doctor.
