Join the Yue Moon: Tiger With Wings public art program at the free lantern-making workshop for Lunar New Year. Both in-person or online workshops are led by artists PUFF Paddy and Meegan Lim, supported by STEPS Public Art in partnership with the Chinatown BIA. Be a part of Toronto’s Chinatown Lunar New Year celebrations in your community!

Inspired by the traditional Chinese palace lantern design, lanterns are built with each panel showcasing an illustration by a workshop participant. It culminates in a public exhibition animating the streets of Toronto’s Chinatown for Lunar New Year from January through February 2022.

Paddy and Meegan will demonstrate artistic approaches that capture the festivities of the Year of the Tiger. Materials will be provided for in-person workshops. Online workshop participants will be provided a list of materials they can use from home or purchase at their nearest dollar store.

No experience is necessary! This is an intergenerational project open for members of the Chinatown community and beyond.
