Calling all young adventurers and outdoor enthusiasts — get ready for another summer of fun camp experiences at Scouts Canada’s Camp Adventureland! Centrally located in the Whitchurch-Stouffville area, north of the GTA and just off Highway 404, kids and teens aged 5-16 can have an unforgettable time at this fully-equipped summer camp. Whether they only have time to spend just a week or want to hang out for the entire summer, Camp Adventureland is packed with opportunities for personal development and outdoor adventure.
Since 1970, Camp Adventureland has provided the very best summer camp experience in the GTA, operating out of the Woodland Trails camp in Stouffville. In fact, families can choose between four separate programs that run simultaneously throughout the summer: traditional Overnight, Day Camp, Leadership-in-Training, and their brand new Outdoor Adventure Kids (OAK) program! Campers can stay for a full week of adventure, staying in tents or cabins depending on the program. Alternatively, they can participate in the fun day camp activities and return home each night. Best of all, Camp Adventureland is an easy drive from the Markham, Aurora and Newmarket area! Their convenient options fit in perfectly with summer schedules of busy families.
Camp Adventureland — Summer Programs
Regardless of whether your child is an experienced camper or is simply looking for a new adventure, everyone is welcome at Camp Adventureland! For all nine weeks of the summer, kids and teens from around the GTA come together to learn, explore, meet new friends and make life-long memories, all while spending time in the great outdoors.
With new weekly themes every week, the camp counsellors and instructors lead the campers through exciting activities and adventures. With both daytime and sleep-away camp options, the kids get plenty of fresh air and have a blast! There are new skills to learn every day, from archery and outdoor cooking to survival skills. Throughout their time at Camp Adventureland, the campers also learn valuable life lessons, such as resiliency and confidence.
Meanwhile, families can breathe easy knowing that this camp offers an inclusive and safe experience due to the exemplary reputation of Camp Adventureland. Their senior team consists of experienced teachers, social workers, and educational assistants. Additionally, the well-trained staff members make sure the campers enjoy a secure and healthy environment by following all safety protocols.
Summer Programs:
Day Camps (Ages 6-12) — For the younger campers, Camp Adventureland offers a Day Camp that runs Monday to Friday. These programs keep kids engaged with various outdoor activities while focusing on having fun outdoors. This is a great introduction to the camping lifestyle, where kids can make friends while exploring their passion for adventure.
Overnight Camps (Ages 7-13) — For youth aged 7-13, this week-long program runs from Monday morning to Friday afternoon, including food and snacks. First campers experience a multitude of programs, cook dinner outdoors and participate in evening events, like fireside stories and movies under the stars. Campers are housed in cabin accommodations called “Tabins”, in groups of 20-25 kids that are close in age.
Adventureland Leadership-In-Training Program (Ages 12-16) — Perfect for teens who want to spread their wings, Camp Adventureland’s Leadership In Training (LIT) Program provides numerous opportunities for personal and professional development. The campers have fun in an inclusive and supportive environment, combining outdoor adventures with community building. At the same time, participants challenge themselves and learn about teamwork and responsibility, becoming confident and well-rounded individuals.
NEW! Outdoor Adventure Kids (OAK) Program (Ages 9-15) — New this year, Camp Adventureland is offering an Outdoor Adventure Kids program for youth, where campers can experience the great outdoors on a deeper level. For instance, campers sleep in tents and cook meals outdoors with staff, with more adventure-based programming than the LIT or Overnight programs. Plus, the participants are able to develop survival and outdoor skills, similar to Scout Canada’s Outdoor Adventure Skills program.
