Toronto Circus Centre (TCC) Summer Camps are back for another year, where kids can clown around and enjoy a full summer of circus fun! You will be so amazed at what your children can achieve in just a week of learning circus skills. The kids participate in numerous circus acts during these weekly camps, including aerial trapeze, hoop, rope and silks. Plus, they also have a great time with juggling, floor and partner acrobatics and clowning. But the kids don’t miss out on traditional summer activities either because the camps also include outdoor activities, such as garden and splash pad visits (weather permitting).

Kids love to jump, spin, fly, and laugh together at TCC summer camps! These day camps are a perfect way for junior circus stars to be physically active while having fun in a non-competitive environment. With so much variety in the circus, campers can build their confidence with the different activities and discover new talents. As their experienced coaches encourage the kids to try every type of activity, the campers can either diversify their interests or focus on the apparatus they are best suited to during these immersive sessions.

Then, at the end of each week, the students invite their families to a circus performance to display what they’ve learned… it’s an attraction not to be missed!

Toronto Circus Centre Summer Camp — Information (Ages 4½ to 13)

Toronto Circus Centre (TCC) Summer Camps let kids spend their summer experiencing life under the Big Top! Located in Leaside at their newly renovated gym, the aspiring acrobats will tumble, swing, climb, and juggle, with plenty of time for clowning around. Don’t worry if your child does not have previous circus class experience because everyone is welcome. TCC’s dedicated and experienced coaches are able to adjust each child’s direction to their personal skill level. Therefore, new students learn the basics while more experienced junior acrobats further their education and expand their circus repertoire.

While all the kids play together in the same gymnasium, TCC groups children with peers closest to their age range and skill level, which is preferable for both each student’s comfort level and skill advancement. Throughout camp, kids receive close guidance from the specialty coaches, who are professional circus artists from all disciplines who share the joy of training up-and-coming circus stars.

However, even with all these many circus activities, kids still get plenty of fresh air since they head outside everyday to the adjoining garden for crafts and games. The fun-filled daily schedule includes extra indoor and outdoor activities (weather permitting), two snack times and a lunch break. Even better, TCC can also accommodate requests to put participating friends together in the same group, so kids can spend a special summer with their buddies, and make new friends too!

Finally, through the course of each camp week, the circus camp groups work toward building a show with help from the skilled and trained circus professional staff. Then, on Fridays at 4:00pm, the week’s lessons culminate in a FREE end-of-week show for friends and family. The kids are always so proud to demonstrate what they have learned, so don’t miss out on seeing this inspiring and exhilarating event!

What to Pack

  • Long pants (leggings or jogging pants) and a fitted top for safety. (Note: Also for safety reasons, long hair should be tied back and campers should not wear jewelry.)
  • Refillable water bottle, including a nametag
  • Nut-free lunch and at least two snacks (Note: Since the camp is physically demanding, the campers get quite hungry so pack more food than they would normally take to school.)
