The Art of Cake – Holiday High Tea

Local Holiday Treats

The Holiday High Tea at The Art of Cake is absolutely exquisite! Every detail is meticulously curated, from the decadent menu to the elegant decorations. My mom and I indulged in the Nutcracker High Tea, where we enjoyed delicate sweets and tea savouries, paired with a delicious Cream of Earl Grey. Every bite exceeded our expectations. We met some lovely cast members from Canada’s Ukrainian Nutcracker presented by Shumka, who were dressed in glittering costumes and so excited about their upcoming performance. While Nutcracker High Tea seatings have come to a close, there are still plenty of opportunities left for Holiday High Tea on Sundays throughout December. January High Tea bookings are also open, and make a great gift idea!

Ayco Café – Instagrammable Baked Goods & Holiday High Tea

Ayco Festive Treats 2025 - Family Fun Edmonton

You might have seen Ayco Café on social media with their viral baked goods like cube croissants, artfully decorated doughnuts, and giant croissants that can feed up to 10 people! This local business stands out not just for their treats but for their kindness. When my husband was fighting cancer, they surprised my family with a box of baked goods at the hospital. That thoughtful gesture meant so much to us, and since then, I’ve tried several items on their menu, shared them with my friends and family, and can say with certainty that their desserts taste even better than they look. Their holiday creations, like the Grinch Cookie Monster and Eggnog Custard Stuffed Christmas Tree, are sure to impress your Christmas guests. Every Saturday and Sunday in December, they are offering Holiday High Tea with fun, whimsical twists on the classic tea experience, and they can also accommodate dietary needs. Kids five and under are half price, making it that much sweeter for families to enjoy some cozy holiday time together.

Bakenary – Christmas Macaron Box & Baking Classes

Local Holiday Treats

Our family has been fans of Bakenary since we moved to Edmonton four years ago, placing orders online for special occasions and picking up jumbo bear macarons (my son’s favourite!) from the Bountiful Farmers’ Market. They’ve recently opened a lovely storefront that features a display of jumbo macarons, cake slices, coffee, and a decorated nook with macaron wall art, making the perfect photo op. They also offer baking classes, which have been hugely successful so far, while still finding the time to bring their popular pastries to markets. We recently tried a Christmas Macaron box, featuring beautiful, themed macarons that were almost too cute to eat! They were soft and light, with flavourful fillings and impeccably decorated. You can really tell the care and love that goes into every detail. There are still some remaining spots for the last Christmas Macaron Baking Class on December 14, 2025, should you want to learn the artistry from the head chef herself, or you can place an order for a Christmas Box. They also have single macaron boxes, which would make for the sweetest stocking stuffers!

Blush Cake Bar – Holiday Grazing Boxes

Blush Cake Bar is quickly becoming known as one of the cutest bakeries around! The shop has been newly renovated with bright decor and fun, sprinkled walls, so every visit is a treat for your senses. The bakery is the result of two best friends working hard to bring their dream to life. They started out at Farmers’ Markets, found quick success, and soon needed a bigger kitchen space, which led them to Beaumont. With their baking skills and dedication, they’ve created something special. One of their specialities is creating last-minute cakes, so customers can walk out with their own personalized cake in just 10 minutes! This holiday season, you can pick from cookie boxes, grazing boxes, macaron wreaths, or some of the cutest gingerbread people around. They also have a variety of other treats, drinks, and gluten-free options, ensuring everyone can share in the sweetness and joy this season brings.
