Alberta first became a province on September 1, 1905 and the Alberta government has decided to mark the occasion with the newly declared Alberta Day to be celebrated at the beginning of September. In Edmonton, the activities will take place at the Alberta Legislature Grounds on Saturday, September 2, 2023 with a full day of fun including tours, a marketplace, Kids Zone, Mini hockey, food trucks, PLUS a free concert from folk-rock band Captain Tractor followed by a spectacular drone show to wrap up the evening!

Everyone is invited to celebrate what makes Alberta special with a schedule of special events happening in municipalities throughout the province.
