🛶 Book a raft, kayak or boat trip down the North Saskatchewan River or on St Albert’s Big Lake. We have found several fun options for enjoying a day on the water including guided raft trips, light-up kayaks and the iconic Edmonton Riverboat!

🪨 Hit the Ski Hill for summer adventure!Snow Valley Aerial Park is home to a spectacular 15 m high climbing tower that offers over 100 elements to climb, crawl, swing and step through including a ski bridge, a snowboard balance bridge, bicycle and more.

🐑 Visit and feed the lawn-mowing sheep in Fort Saskatchewan! Find the sheep on the Fort Heritage Precinct grounds, play on the natural playground, then take a walk over to grab some delicious Miller’s Ice Cream at the nearby train station.

🏁 See full throttle Monster Truck action in Edmonton! Monster Jam is coming INDOORS to Rogers Place on July 26 & 27 featuring full scale versions of your kids favourites like Grave Digger, El Toro Loco, and Megaladon. 📖 Take the kids on a StoryWalk at MacEwan University! Have fun together touring campus and discovering the Indigenous children’s book This Land is a Lullaby with 18 different story page stops winding through indoor and outdoor spaces of three MacEwan University buildings.

Visit the Alberta Aviation Museum to see an amazing collection of vintage planes and memorabilia housed in the only double-long, double-wide hangar of its type left. Visit the Alberta Railway Museum to walk through and explore over 75 locomotives, cars and railway equipment. Head to Wetaskiwin to explore the Reynolds Museum with it’s extensive collection of vintage vehicles, airplanes, farm equipment, and more!

🚒 Climb aboard a firetruck at one of several FREE Fire Station Open House Events! Edmonton’s friendly fire fighters invite you to check out the station, trucks, equipment, and learn some important fire safety tips at rotating locations throughout the summer.

💐 Buy yourself flowers at these local U-Pick Flower Farms! Handpick your own custom floral bouquet at an Edmonton Area U-Pick Flower Farm. It’s a fun and Instagrammable experience that will brighten both your day and your home. All the fantastic farms on our list offer a wide variety of colourful blooms plus additional experiences like hands-on workshops, walking trails, and even picnics with an adorable pack of alpacas!

🎵 Enjoy the sweet sounds of music in the air at an ‘Al Fresco’ summer concertYou can make the most of Edmonton’s short Summer months with this list of free or inexpensive outdoor concerts. There’s something for everyone to enjoy, and it is the perfect way to discover new and upcoming local artists!

🔍 Go On a FREE Scavenger Hunt! IKEA Edmonton has a fun in-store scavenger hunt with a sweet prize at the end – a FREE frozen yogurt cone from the Swedish Bistro! Grab a tiny pencil and hunt sheet from the display on the wall to the left of Småland, then have fun together making your way through the IKEA maze on the hunt for clues. Salisbury Greenhouse also has a monthly Scavenger Hunt for the kids! Grab the hunt sheet and search for the hidden images throughout the greenhouse to earn a FREE 2.5″ herb plant to bring home.

🦙 Take a walk on the rural side with Alberta Open Farm Days 2025. Albertans are encouraged to head out to the country on August 17 & 18 to meet some of the farmers who grow our food. This is your opportunity to see demonstrations, meet some impressive animals, try delicious farm-fresh foods and hear stories from those in Alberta’s agriculture industry. This year will celebrate Water, the Lifeblood of Every Farm.

🍋 Take part in the 12th annual Simply Supper Lemonade Stand Day on August 24, 2025. Register today to hold your own lemonade stand in support of the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation. All supplies and training is provided for junior entrepreneurs. Registration opens June 16, 2025.

⛳ Get out and discover a new mini golf course with the family. We recommend the open course at Putting Horse Ranch, a round of glow mini golf at Canada Golf Card Driving Range & Mini Golf, or a road trip to Pigeon Lake to hit Ma-Me-O beach and the links at Blackstone Mini Golf.
