This year, why not throw a summer party with help from Value Village?
It’s no secret that Value Village is a great place to find quality pre-loved clothes. And you can feel good about shopping there and supporting a business that partners with local non-profit organizations. But have you considered that Value Village can also be the perfect resource for all your DIY party needs?
With summer looming, we’ve been working hard to find all the best things to do in and around town. But we also know the joys of summer days at home with friends and the fun of making everything “just so” in preparation for a party!
The Value Village website and Pinterest boards are a treasure trove of ideas for summer party decor. You can create a magical backyard oasis with some of the great creations found on there!
Lighting sets the mood
Strings of twinkling Christmas lights hung in the trees are beautiful on their own, but you can also string them inside cheese graters that have been painted bright summery colours. If strings of fairy lights aren’t feasible, you can use glow sticks in glass jars!
Grab a seat!
Encourage your guests to lounge wherever they feel comfortable. Fill a large basket with blankets and cushions for guests to grab and set up wherever they choose. Cover cushions you find at Value Village in waterproof material to keep them looking good in any weather.
Fairy garden fun
At the party, why not set up a fairy garden station? You can use planting pots or tea cups, small toys, and even pieces of costume jewelry found at Value Village to create a magical garden habitat for the fairies.
Fantastic photo booth!
Search Value Village for fun props to set up a silly photo booth/selfie station. Create a backdrop by painting a sheet found in the housewares section of Value Village, add fun costume elements, and snap away. You could even set up a printer and hand out frames you’ve painted as party favours. You’ll never guess who has a great selection of frames!
Blow some ultimate bubbles!
Get the kids to help set the whimsical mood by blowing bubbles. Take a look in the toy department at Value Village for bubble wands if you need extras. To get you started, we have a printable just for you of the Ulitimate Bubble recipe! Click on the image below:
