Take a trip down memory lane and join in the festivities as World Waterpark celebrates 40 unforgettable years at West Edmonton Mall! For the past four decades, this iconic destination has been a place where families from Edmonton and across the globe have created lasting memories, whether it be a first water slide experience or a laughter-filled day with friends and loved ones.
The celebrations kick off on May 2, 2026, with a family-friendly birthday bash! There will be a live DJ, a photobooth, a classic beach ball drop, a mermaid in the pool, character meet and greets, caricature artists, and so much more! If you can’t make it on opening weekend, don’t worry – on May 9, the celebrations continue with more mermaid magic, character appearances, and photobooth fun.
From May 1 to 15, 2026, tickets are just $40 in honour of this incredible milestone. While you’re at West Edmonton Mall this spring, don’t miss out on all the extra fun happening around the mall! Throughout the month, Galaxyland Powered by Hasbro is hosting Mascot Meet and Greets with Mr. Monopoly, Mr. Potato Head and the My Little Ponies (see the full schedule for details). You can also sing, dance and watch a magical mascot show with Go With Your Glow events at Galaxyland’s Mascot Centre every Friday through Sunday. And of course, a visit to West Edmonton Mall isn’t complete without exploring the Sea Life Caverns! Catch the Sea Lion Shows every weekend, or dive into discovery with the Marine Life Play and Learn program on select Wednesdays. The next one features iguanas on Wednesday, May 6.
