We established a new tradition in our family today – the Arts Club production of White Christmas, the musical.  I have always been a huge fan of the movie and was worried the stage production just wouldn’t match up.  My fears were ill-placed.  The Arts Club’s White Christmas was magical.  The dancing was great, the singing outstanding (I so envy those who can actually sing), and the acting captivating.

Once again, our little boys (2 & 4) were enraptured by a Vancouver theatrical production.  I am thrilled we can comfortably take them to the theatre.  I’m not ready to brave an evening performance but matinees are absolutely perfect for little ones.  I strongly encourage families to take their kids to the theatre, instil the love of the arts while they are young!

This performance of White Christmas is a great entree into the performing arts for kids: the show is face-paced, and there is oodles of singing and dancing.  Make sure you know the words to White Christmas; there is a touch of well-placed audience participation.  The crowd we attended with was great – enthusiastic, and good, singers!

White Christmas at the Stanley Industrial Alliance Theatre runs until next Sunday (December 23rd), with a combination of evening and matinee performances.  The show is 2.5 hours in length with one intermission.

A great Christmas show performed by a terrific ensemble.  You won’t be disappointed; we sure weren’t!
