Oh but this weather though! It makes it perfect to get out and enjoy the sights, the sounds and all the family fun of this wonderful season! Don’t miss a minute! Start with our list of Awesome Kid Friendly Activities to do in Edmonton This Weekend, November 22-24, 2019.

1. Mill Woods Town Centre Santa Claus Parade

What a way to welcome Santa! Mill Woods Town Centre kicks off the season with the annual Indoor Santa Claus Parade. Santa will be joined by special guests PJ Masks and the first 50 families get free photos! Saturday.

2. Enjoy Light Festival

There’s no brighter way to celebrate the season! The lights turn on at the Enjoy Light Festival on Thursday – and they stay on until January 5! From the Enchanted Garden to Santa’s Workshop, don’t miss the magic and fun! Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

3. Magic of Lights

Another brilliant tradition in Edmonton – Canadian Tire Magic of Lights kicks off at Castrol Raceway on Friday! Check out the amazing light displays as you drive the 2 kilometre track! Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

4. Disney on Ice

Join the fun and see if you can lend a hand as Mickey’s Search Party tries to find Tinkerbell! Disney on Ice hits the EXPO Centre for 12 shows over the course of 5 days! Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

5. Fort Saskatchewan Santa Claus Parade

You couldn’t ask for better weather for an outdoor Santa Claus Parade! Heading to Fort Saskatchewan Saturday? Don’t forget to bring letters for Santa – they can be handed directly to the Elves escorting Santa’s float! Saturday.

6. Jubilations Junior

Dinner theatre for kids?!? You bet! Enjoy a kid friendly meal and a matinee performance of “Elf Off The Shelf”, the Christmas Show at Jubilation Junior, debuting this weekend! Saturday. 

7. Green Christmas

Enjoy free family fun, crafts, treats and more at Martin Deerline’s Green Christmas! This weekend’s event is at the South location. Don’t forget a food bank or Santas Anonymous donation – you can get a free photo with Santa on a John Deere Tractor! Saturday.

8. Festivals of Trees

Both Sherwood Park and Leduc host their Festival of Trees events this weekend. From design inspiration to crafts and activities for kids to special guests, these events are fun for the whole family! Sherwood Park Friday, Saturday; Leduc Saturday, Sunday.

9. Kids’ Day Out at the Melting Pot

Cheese, chocolate, crafts – what’s not to love? Check out this month’s Kids’ Day Out event at the Melting Pot restaurant. Enjoy delicious fondue and fun activities for the kids! Sunday. 

10. Christmas Light Up events

Fort Saskatchewan and St. Albert are each doing their community Light Up events this weekend. Take advantage of the beautiful weather and get out and enjoy some community camaraderie!  Friday. 

11. Christmas in the Heartland

A unique event that stretches out to venues east of Edmonton, Christmas in the Heartland features several family-friendly events, including free skating, a massive collection of nutcrackers and even fireworks! Saturday, Sunday.

12. Get Crafty!

Kids will love using their imaginations to create Small Clay Worlds at this weekend’s workshop at  Paper Scissors Paint art studio! They also have Open Studio time and Saturday Slime Time! Saturday.

No Kids’ Club or Make Break this weekend – instead it’s the Michaels Maker Fest! Choose from three fun projects to DIY! Saturday.

Feeling artistic? You can’t beat the Art Gallery of Alberta for creative inspiration! Check out Family Studio and Kids Drop In Studio! Saturday.

13. Christmas Markets and Craft Shows

The lighting is brighter and the volume is lower – check out this weekend’s IMAX Sensory-Friendly Screening of Backyard Wilderness at the TELUS World of Science Edmonton. Saturday.
