Halloween kicks into high gear this weekend, but there are a few non-Halloween events. Check it all out in our list of Awesome Kid Friendly Activities To Do in Edmonton This Weekend, October 19-21, 2018.

1. Caernarvon Community Glowstick Walk

Wear your best brights and bring your glowing things to the Caernarvon Community Glowstick Walk, and help light up the night around Lake Beaumaris! FREE event, but registration requested to ensure there are enough glowsticks and post-walk treats! Saturday.

2. National Chemistry Week at TWOSE

Just how much fun can science be? Find out with experiments, hands-on demos, and more at National Chemistry Week at the TELUS World of Science Edmonton. Saturday.

3. Diwali Fair

Celebrate Diwali at the FREE Diwali Fair. There are family-friendly activities, delicious foods, a market, and much more! Saturday, Sunday.

4. Open House at Indigo Kids

Not sure what to buy for Christmas gifts? Take the kids to the Open House at Indigo Kids! They can check out all the cool toys and you can get a jump on that shopping list! Saturday.

5. Edmonton Corn Maze

The weather is bouncing back and the folks at the Edmonton Corn Maze have extended their season until October 27. The maze paths are drying, but boots are still recommended! Friday, Saturday, Sunday. 

6. Halloween – Sweet! 

Halloween doesn’t have to be all scary! If you have a little one, or a kid who’d rather skip the scares, check out these family-friendly events! Head to select Cineplex theatres for The Great Big Boo; Go west to Spruce Grove for the Spooktacular Acreage of Fun; The weather will be glorious for a visit to the Haunted Pumpkin Festival at Prairie Gardens and Adventure Farm; Check out the Great Pumpkin Celebration at Cabela’s stores; Or sing and dance the day away with the Kids’ Halloween Party at the Rec Room.

7. Halloween – Scary!

There are still plenty of ways to scare yourself silly! Check out the Night of Fear Festival (Saturday afternoon includes kid-friendly activities); Test your bravery at the Sherwood Park Haunted House; Play a Hospital of Horror virtual reality game at Laser City; Or check out the ultra-creepy Dead Centre of Town at Fort Edmonton Park.

8. Halloween – Crafts!

Make your own cool Halloween decor! Older kids can learn to use a laser cutter to Make and Take an amazing spider lamp at the TELUS World of Science Edmonton; Create some creepy-crawly cobwebs at Michaels Kids Club; Or recycle old items at Monster-Making Madness at the Edmonton Reuse CentreSaturday.

9. Movies!
