In honour of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend, the province is celebrating with free admission at several museums and historical sites on June 3-5, 2022! The full list of participating historic sites, museums and interpretive centres can be found here.
Unfortunately the Saturday and Sunday spots are all filled up at the Royal Alberta Museum, but there are still many times available on Friday, June 3, 2022. The kids area in the museum is perfect if you are looking for some fun with a toddler! Reserve your tickets here.
The Reynolds-Alberta Museum is worth the road trip out to Wetaskiwin to see some cool vehicles and learn about the history of machines in Alberta. There are still plenty of timeslots available throughout the weekend. Reserve your tickets here.
The Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village is another nearby option that would be worth visiting with the gorgeous weather that is expected this weekend. Just 25 minutes East of Edmonton, our family always enjoys spending the day exploring the lovingly re-stored buildings, meeting the farm animals and learning about early Ukrainian Settlement in Alberta. Plus FREE admission means, you’ll have money to enjoy a delicious plate of Ukrainian food from the on-site concession! Plan your visit here.
