Join Kids Run Wild and Edmonton Overlanders Orienteering Club (EOOC) for their popular drop-in orienteering events this summer! These relaxed, family-friendly sessions are just $10 per map (which can be shared) and a great opportunity to get active, try something new, and explore local parks together. There’s no experience needed and no weekly commitment—just show up, grab a map, and enjoy a new outdoor adventure with family and friends!

What Is Orienteering?

Orienteering is an outdoor sport that blends physical activity with problem-solving as you learn to navigate terrain using a detailed map and compass (optional). The map shows the places that you need to visit, but how you get to those places is completely up to the participants. Wednesday sessions focus on fun, family connection, and skill development, whether you’re brand new to orienteering or already comfortable reading a map. If it is your first time, EOOC members will teach you all necessary skills to get started.
