Rapid Theatre, Edmonton’s longest-running improv company, does more than make you laugh at their weekly shows. They also offer 10-week Kidding Around Workshops for children aged 6 to 12! Each class is filled with laughter as children learn to move their bodies and express their unique ideas with fun improv games and interactive exercises. Kids will connect with the Rapid Fire comedic experts at these workshops to unlock their spontaneous, creative potential. It’s Saturday morning fun that builds confidence as kids learn to think on their feet while having a great time!
Kidding Around Workshops
Are your kids ready? It’s time to unlock imagination, embrace positivity, and get ready to perform!
These dynamic 10-week workshops will take place on Saturday mornings before the popular, family-friendly Kidding Around Show. Classes will be broken into two age groups and run simultaneously, making it easy for siblings to enroll together!
Youngers | Ages 6-9
The youngest improvisers will learn the tricks of the trade through play! Non-stop games and interactive activities are the perfect way for youngers to develop skills like body control, focus, and collaboration.
Olders | Ages 9-12
Olders will learn to bring their imaginations as they explore the art of spontaneous storytelling! New skills like saying “yes and,” trusting their impulses, and turning failure into gold will help build confidence and up their comedic game.
No prior improv or theatre experience is necessary to join! Rapid Fire Theatre is proud to offer a welcoming and inclusive space where children can freely express themselves and boost their self-confidence.
You can also get a taste of how fun improv can be with Rapid Fire by attending a Kidding Around Show. It is never the same show twice, as performers spontaneously create the entire show, along with a few suggestions from the audience! Catch these family-friendly performances every Saturday afternoon from 1:30 to 2:30 PM.
