The Annual Halifax Pride Festival boasts some of the best events in the city with TONS of events for kids and families. This 10-day long festival hosts well over 100 events for all ages. Here are some of our favourite kids/youth events. For a complete schedule, please visit their website.

TD Block Party

When: Wednesday July 18th, 2018
Time: 5:30pm – 8:00pm
Where: Argyle Street, Halifax

The community is invited to join in the fun at this FREE event to kickoff the Pride festival! A section of Argyle Street will be closed to celebrate Halifax Pride with all kinds of block party fun – games, photo booth, snacks and crafts!

Pride Youth Dance

When: Thursday July 19th, 2018
Time: 8:00pm – 9:00pm
Where: Garrison Grounds, Halifax

Kickoff the Pride Festival and dance under the stars at the Pride Youth Dance. All 2SLGBTQ+ youth and their allies, ages 19 and under are invited to attend this FREE event which includes snacks and drinks. An area will be set up nearby if parents/guardians would like to stay. This is a drug-free and alcohol-free space.

Halifax Pride Movie Feature: Love, Simon

When: Friday July 20th, 2018

Celebrate Halifax Pride with one of the year’s most popular movies, Love, Simon. Rated PG-13

Youth Float Building and Pride BBQ

When: Friday July 20th, 2018
Time: 2:30pm – 4:00pm
Where: The Youth Project, 2281 Brunswick St, Halifax

 All youth are welcome to grab a paintbrush and help decorate the youth float and/or come by for a FREE BBQ! Open to youth 25 and under.

Pride Parade Prep Party

When: Saturday July 21st, 2018

Get ready for the Halifax Pride Parade by making some cool swag. All 2SLGBTQ+ youth and their allies are welcome.

Pride Parade Pre-Parade Party

When: Saturday July 21st, 2018

Join local drag sensations, Bobby Sparkles and Rhett for stories, songs, and crafts to get pumped up for this year’s Halifax Pride Parade.

Pride Parade Post-Parade Party

The Parade is over but the fun doesn’t have to stop. Come by to make a rainbow themed craft or read some stories that celebrate love.

Puppers Pride Parade

When: Sunday July 22nd, 2018
Time: 2:00pm – 4:00pm
Where: Shubie Park, 54 Locks Road, Dartmouth

All dogs, pups, humans and dog lovers are invited to the annual pooch pride parade in the park! Sport your rainbow collars, bandanas, and leashes and join them at Shubie Park!

Rainbow Kids

When: Monday July 23rd, 2018
Time: 2:00pm – 4:00pm
Where: The Youth Project, 2281 Brunswick St, Halifax

The Youth Project will be hosting this event for gender-creative, gender nonconforming and transgender kids, up to age 13! Come do some art and play some games, and parents can have a chance to chat too.
