Have you ever wanted to explore the “moat” that surrounds the Citadel? Here’s your chance! Mountain Equipment Co-op and Parks Canada are excited to host the 8th annual MEC Citadel Highlander Race at the Halifax Citadel. Participants of all ages will have fun running in and around the Citadel, including the parade square, perimeter road, around the inner ditch (the moat), and along the ramparts. Walkers are welcome, as long as they finish the course by 11:30.
The kids fun run (Ages 12 and under) kicks off at 8:45 am, and the adult 5K and 10K races start at 9:30 am. Spectators are invited to join in the fun and wander the inside of the Halifax Citadel at no charge. Register on the MEC Website, or on the morning of the race.
