Calling all Mermaids and Treasure Hunters! The Mermaid Tears Sea Glass Festival is an annual celebration of of “Mermaid Tears” (small pieces of sea glass), held in Souris, Prince Edward Island on the last full weekend of July. Visit sea glass artisans and crafts, stop and play Seaglass bingo, listen to live entertainment and buskers, tour the Souris Lighthouse, or watch the departure of the CMTA Ferry, which departs daily to the Magdalen Islands. Have you ever found an amazing specimen of sea glass? On Sunday, July 31st, bring your own sea glass to the Shard Contest for the chance to win a prize.
Admission to this festival is $5.00 per person per day (under 5 years old – FREE), with an additional $5.00 fee if you have a shard (up to 3) to enter in the Shard Contest. Admission includes a free lighthouse tour, buskers, and various workshops.
