Grab your pens and pencils and get ready for a super fun way to celebrate Christmas! Did you know you can send a letter to Santa and get one back? Canada Post has a special program called Write Letters To Santa where Santa’s helpers, also known as the postal elves, help him read and answer over a million letters every year from kids all around the world.

Starting November 1st, 2023, Santa’s ready to hear from you.  He’s super busy, so he can start reading your letters after this date. You can write to him until the end of January, but there’s something important to remember if you want to get a reply before Christmas. To get a letter back from Santa before Christmas Day, make sure you send your letter by December 7, 2023. Santa and his elves will do their best to reply to everyone, but they can’t promise exact delivery dates.

How to Write to Santa

It’s easy! Just grab some paper, write your letter to Santa, and send it to this special address:

Santa Claus
North Pole
H0H 0H0
Canada

Don’t forget to put your name and address so Santa knows where to send his reply! And if you need a little inspiration, the Canada Post website has helpful templates for younger and older children. They also have helpful tips like adding your return address and skipping the stamp.

Writing to Santa is a great way for your family to get into the holiday spirit. It’s a fun activity to do together and a wonderful way for kids to practice their writing. Imagine the excitement when a letter from Santa arrives!
