It’s time to get WILD Metro Vancouver! The Wildlife Festival is back again this year to celebrate rescued local and exotic wildlife through animal interactions, educational shows, and plenty of hands-on learning. Travel to the depths of the jungle and explore the incredible animals of Africa without ever leaving the Lower Mainland!

After an incredibly successful previous visit in July, The Wildlife Festival is travelling across 3 provinces in Western Canada and bringing plenty of friends with it. Families will love seeing exotic animals up close and learning about their habitats and how we can all work together to keep animals across the world safe. Explore three exhibits to see, interact with, and learn about animals that live in those habitats. In Destination Africa, visitors will learn why the continent is called “the Cradle of Life” and see Kenyan zebra skinks and African crested porcupines, tortoises, and Savannah monitors, among others. Keep travelling and journey deep into The Depths of the Jungle, where visitors will see sloths, snakes, and other jungle creatures. Finally, don’t miss the Diversity of Living Things area, where all ages will be delighted to see a variety of animals from kangaroos to sugar gliders. In each exhibit, visitors will hear a short presentation that explains each animal, their habitat, and some interesting facts.

The Wildlife Festival is in partnership with The Cobbs Exotic Animal and Rescue and Education Centre (CEAR) in Calgary, Alberta. This non-profit organization supports the care and rehabilitation of exotic animals, and 100% of the proceeds from The Wildlife Festival are donated to CEAR to continue their advocacy, education, and rehabilitation of animals.

Families should plan for a 2-hour experience so they can visit each exhibit leisurely to see the animals and watch the main stage shows, which rotate every 45 minutes and offer animal encounters and petting in between shows.Β Visitors can also customize their experience at The Wildlife Festival by choosing specialty times, events, or add-ons to General Admission. If someone in your group would benefit from a quieter experience, add the Sensitivity Hour on Saturday from 10am-11am to explore the exhibits before the festival opens to the general public. Adults can also opt to attend the Adults Only event on Friday night from 7pm-9pm if you’re looking to experience the animals before you bring the kids, or want an engaging and unique date night out! Finally, if you’re looking for an extra-special add-on for the animal lover in your life, secure the VIP Experience. This unforgettable option includes a small group guided tour of the festival, including an extra special private encounter with a sloth! Only a select number of VIP Experiences are available each day, so be sure to book those tickets now!
