Holidays in Historic Downtown Abbotsford

Thanks to COVID Christmas celebrations in Downtown Abbotsford are going to look a little different in 2020. There may not be large in-person events, but the organizers of Holidays in Historic Downtown Abbotsford have come up with some truly clever activities to keep everyone in the holiday spirit.

Online Holiday Market & Pick Up Party:

Downtown favourites will be available in the online Holiday Market. Visit their instagram page to keep up on product announcements and partnerships.
Market dates: November 19 – 22, 2020
Pick up date: December 10, 2020 (drive thru pick up)

Win a Downtown Christmas:

Nominate a family you think deserves a Downtown Christmas. The prize package includes: a Christmas tree, a Christmas dinner from Local Food Supply Co, and $1500 in Downtown Dollars for gifts. The winner will be announced December 1.

Light Up Downtown:

While Santa won’t be lighting the Christmas tree in 2020, you can! Sing, clap, play an instrument to activate the sound-triggered lights at Essendene and West Railway.

Elf in a Store Window:

Every week 5 elves will be hidden in different store windows throughout Downtown Abbotsford. Snap a picture, post to social media or email in your photos. Once you have found all 5 elves you will receive $10 of Downtown Dollars to spend at participating businesses.

Storefront Decorating Contest:

The businesses in Downtown Abbotsford are competing in a fun contest: who has the most decorated storefront. Visitors can vote on the Downtown Abbotsford Facebook page. The winner will be announced December 21.
