In mid-May, Alberta Parks began taking reservations for individual and backcountry camping, but with a 50 percent capacity limit. Their site was backlogged for hours on end as seemingly every Albertan tried to secure a campsite for the summer season. However, with Stage 2 of the reopening plan being launched on June 12, Alberta Parks will now be opening campgrounds to full capacity. That means that over the next few days, more campsites are being added to the reservation system.
If you missed out on being able to book the first time around, this may well be your chance to get a family camping trip booked! To make a camping reservation with Alberta Parks, you will need to create an account at reserve.albertaparks.ca before choosing your dates and site.
