Our family always loves finding new mini golf courses to play! Unfortunately, Canada Golf Card is the only outdoor mini golf course in all of Edmonton so I have had to extend our search radius outwards. If we are headed out camping in the summer I always do a quick search of the area to see if there is a mini golf option and that is what led us to Blackstone Mini Golf!
Blackstone Mini Golf is located at Pigeon Lake, just under a 1 hour drive from the south side of the city. We visited the area for a weekend of camping and stayed at Pigeon Lake Provincial Park, but you could just as easily plan a day trip to the lake with a round of mini golf.
The Blackstone Mini Golf course is beautifully landscaped with several water features, hills, and bridges. Each of the holes is quite long, with long putts and obstacles to add to the challenge. Several of the holes were also multi-level which made for a fun surprise watching our balls disappear and pop back out on the course.
We mostly had the course to ourselves and it ended up being a really fun round for all of us! It rained the first full day of the camping trip so I was so excited when the rain let up for us to be able to stop and check it out. Our kids were happy just doing the 18 holes of mini golf, but there is also a gold panning pond for another fun activity option.
Afterwards we stopped up the road at The Village at Pigeon Lake to try donuts from Holey Grail Donuts & Bakery. Everything in the display case looked delicious and it was hard for each of us to choose from the selection of tempting flavours like key lime, black forest, pomegranate, chocolate peanut butter crunch, maple bacon, and root beer float. Also hard was finishing the whole donut because of their hefty size! If you are in the area we definitely recommend stopping in and checking them out.
