The City of Leduc invites residents to celebrate Canada’s 154th birthday by taking in a variety of fun community activities. This year’s activities include take-home hot dog & s’more kits, a downloadable regional booklet full of fun activities, a travelling concert series with local folk-rock duo River Poets, and a high-flying fireworks display that residents will be able to enjoy from anywhere within 3 km of the garden plots at Telford Lake. In addition to the City’s planned activities, there are also a number of community-led events happening throughout Leduc to celebrate Canada Day.

8:30 – 11:30 am: Leduc Legion Pancake Breakfast located at the Leduc Branch 108 (5104 49 Street).
11:45 am: Leduc Legion Canada Day flag-raising
12 pm – 6 pm: Canada Day Event at Block50, featuring Lil’ Ryley Farms, Canadian Veterans, live music, food trucks, and more!
12 pm – 4 pm: Leduc Boat Club offering special pricing of $10 rentals for 45-minutes.
1 pm: River Poets Concert at West Haven School
2 pm: River Poets Concert at Harry Bienert Park
3 pm: River Poets Concert at Elks Soccer Field
4 pm: River Poets Concert at Christ the King School
5 pm: River Poets Concert at Fred Johns Park
11 pm – 11:15 pm: Fireworks display over Telford Lake

The City of Leduc will also be pausing for a moment of silence at 2:15 p.m., in honour of the 215 indigenous lives recently discovered in a mass grave outside a former residential school in Kamloops, B.C., and invite the community to pause with us to mourn this tragic loss.
