Dust off those cowboy boots — the Canadian Finals Rodeo (CFR) is bringing rodeo action and plenty of western fun back to Edmonton! From October 7–10, 2026, Canada’s top rodeo athletes will take over Rogers Place for five action-packed performances, but the fun extends far beyond the arena. Throughout CFR Week, families can enjoy FREE events, western-themed activities, a pancake breakfast, the Cinch Canadian Country Expo and plenty more happening around the city.
Whether your family is heading to the rodeo or simply wants to get in on the western fun, here are some of the best ways to experience Canadian Finals Rodeo Week in Edmonton.
🤠 Canadian Finals Rodeo at Rogers Place | October 7-10
📍 Rogers Place
The main event takes over Rogers Place from October 7–10, 2026, with five performances featuring eight championship rodeo events and some of the sport’s top competitors. Families can also find western fun on the concourse at Cowboy Corner and Buckaroo Basecamp, with rodeo colouring, games, branding stamps, a Book Nook and a Little Buckaroo Playground for ages 5 and under.
For families, CFR Family Day on Saturday, October 10 adds even more fun before the 11 am Matinee. From 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, the Ford Hall Kids Zone will feature bouncy castles, obstacle courses, face painting, balloon art and more, all included with a Saturday Matinee ticket. Plus, the first 500 kids through the gates starting at 10 am receive a special gift bag, while supplies last.

📍 Edmonton EXPO Centre
Make a full day of your visit to the Edmonton EXPO Centre with the CFR Lunch Buffet. The buffet is offered during the Cinch Canadian Country Expo, giving rodeo fans and Expo visitors a convenient spot to refuel between competitions, shopping and activities. It runs from 12–3 pm Tuesday through Friday and 12–4:30 pm Saturday.

Saddle up for six days of western fun during Canadian Finals Rodeo Week! Enjoy exciting rodeo competitions, barrel racing, team penning, ranch sorting, youth events and plenty of western shopping. 🎉 Canadian Finals Rodeo Tailgate Party | October 7-10 | FREE
📍 ICE District Plaza
Kick off the rodeo fun at the FREE CFR Tailgate Party in ICE District Plaza! Families can enjoy live music, interactive games, western photo ops, a mechanical bull and more. Each day brings something different, including Indigenous games, retro carnival games, maple taffy making and lumberjack games. Saturday adds mascots, a balloon artist and face painting for even more family fun!
🥞 Premier’s Pancake Breakfast | October 8 | FREE
📍 ICE District Fan Park
Start Thursday morning with pancakes and western hospitality at the FREE Premier’s Pancake Breakfast. This popular CFR Week tradition takes over ICE District Fan Park on Thursday, October 8 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, offering families another fun way to join the festivities — no rodeo ticket required.
✈️ Barnstorming Bonanza | October 9
📍Alberta Aviation Museum
Aviation and western fun come together with indoor RC airplane demonstrations, themed family activities and the chance to explore historic aircraft after hours. Families can also dress in their best western gear and join the Rodeo Costume Contest!
