It isn’t Fall without an annual family trip to a corn maze! The Edmonton Corn Maze has been in our rotation for years, and I love that each visit comes with something new and exciting to discover. It has been wonderful to watch this small family farm grow over the years and establish itself as a very popular Edmonton attraction.
We recently visited and spent a wonderful afternoon feeding the farm animals, playing the Farmcade games, bouncing on the jumping pillows, riding the pedal carts and, of course, getting lost in the corn maze. Most activities are included with admission, with some – like the corn cob express and spud guns – incurring a small extra charge.
There are plenty of activities to keep the kids busy, with a large expanse of farm yard to stretch out in and safely distance. There are also fire-pits for rental, picnic tables, porta potty’s, a small concession and the Garden Valley Farm Market on site.
Admittedly, the actual maze is my least favorite part of visiting the Corn Maze. I am not a big fan of getting lost so I am always thankful when we come up to another clue board pointing us towards the exit. For those who do love getting lost in a maze, the Edmonton Corn Maze is broken into two challenging mazes. The paths are all well packed and fairly easy to navigate through with a stroller or wagon if dry.
Every year, they design a new maze with a fun or local theme. For 2021, the theme focuses on the very important contributions of Edmonton’s Food Bank and is cut into the shape of the Food Bank’s mascot. Guests are encouraged to bring a food or monetary donation on their visit, plus watch for special events and onsite programming that highlight the work of the Food Bank.
The Edmonton Corn Maze season typically begins at the end of July and runs into mid October. Watch their social media in the summer to see what fun theme they have come up with for that year. For visitors that come out early in the season, you will also have the opportunity to enjoy the sunflower field and maze. These vibrant flowers make for the perfect photo opportunity!
The Edmonton Corn Maze can get pretty busy on Fall weekends, so bee sure to reserve your tickets online to ensure attendance on busy days. There is also the added perk of discounted tickets if you book online!
