The Edmonton Downtown Business Association is having a party and everyone’s invited! Make plans to be downtown on select weekend days this Summer for the all-new Summer Block Party Series. There will be free activities and fun for all as Rice Howard Way is shut down to vehicle traffic and transformed into a pedestrian and dog-friendly outdoor Entertainment District!
Each Edmonton Downtown Summer Block Party will celebrate a spectacular festival, event, or organization in our city. These FREE events are designed with the whole family in mind, including live music, roaming entertainment, and food & drink specials. A special kids activities area will feature exciting activations like hula hoops, chalk art, crafts, and games, plus rotating entertainers like face painters, magicians, and balloon artists!
Discover Edmonton’s first Entertainment District on Rice Howard Way – where the entire street transforms into a vibrant, walkable patio! Under a special City by-law designation, this unique area allows guests to order food and drinks, including alcohol, to-go from any participating restaurant and enjoy them al fresco along the block. It’s the perfect way to explore local dining and enjoy the lively downtown atmosphere all in one place!

🌈 Celebrate Pride
Date: June 7, 2025
Time: 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM
The Pride Centre of Edmonton is bringing the fun for the first Summer Block Party of the season! This Pride-filled celebration welcomes everyone for a high-energy afternoon of drag, live music and DJs. Stroll Rice Howard Way to discover all the family-friendly fun including balloon twisting, face painting, magical performances from Jay Flair, and a “treasure box” of chalk, bubbles, hula hoops, and jump ropes.
🤹 Art Party

Join the celebration of all things art! This party will include artistic mediums of all kinds including performance art from local street performers and musicians, and exciting visual art from local galleries and comic book stores.
🎭 The Great Outdoors Comedy Festival
Date: July 19, 2025
Time: 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Get ready to laugh out loud as The Great Outdoors Comedy Festival takes over Rice Howard Way! The festival will makes its way from over the river to provide live comedic entertainment and all-ages fun.
🏃 Edmonton Marathon Afterparty
Date: August 17, 2025
Time: 10:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Celebrate with the runners of The Edmonton Marathon at this official afterparty event! Everyone is welcome to come soak up the street vibes and enjoy the live entertainment and family-friendly activities.
