Let Elk Island National Park be your Gateway to the Stars. Discover your inner astronomer as you search for the the stars or Northern Lights under the guide of a friendly and knowledgeable Parks Canada interpreter. Experience all the wonder as you learn to navigate the stars and listen to storytelling about the constellations in our night sky.
Elk Island National Park is located a short 35 minute drive east of Edmonton. It has been designated part of the Beaver Hills Dark Sky Preserve, making it the perfect place to gaze up in wonder at the stars. Far from the glow of city lights, you’ll be able to see more of the stretching universe then you knew existed!
Booking is required in advance through phone or email registration. Participants in the Gateway to the Stars will be treated to a memorable evening around the campfire – don’t forget to pack a warm drink to savour as you stargaze!
