Light up for Canada Day! Head downtown for the best view of the glorious light show that caps off Canada Day in Edmonton!
The fireworks show starts at 11 pm, but get there early to get a good spot! The City says to expect traffic delays 2 hours before the show, and for 90 minutes after. Parking will be very limited with road closures throughout the core, but ETS will be running extra trains and buses to help you get around. If you do choose to drive, the city asks you to exercise patience and courtesy to your fellow drivers.
The City recommends the following viewing spots:
- Alberta Legislature Grounds
- Victoria Park
- Ezio Faraone Park (west entrance to High Level Bridge on 109 Street north)
- Government House Park (Groat Road & River Valley Road)
Viewing spots accessible only by foot:
- River Valley Road
- Walterdale Hill Road and Promenade
- Queen Elizabeth Park, Hill and Road
- 109 Street (between Saskatchewan Drive and the High Level Bridge)
Watch them from the Riverhawks Baseball Game:
Plan to catch the baseball game at RE/MAX Field on Canada Day and guarantee yourself a fantastic front row seat to watch the fireworks! The Edmonton Riverhawks will be facing off against the Nanaimo Nightowls at 7:05 pm with family-friendly entertainment and a late-night concession open until 11 pm. Buy your tickets online here.
Please visit the City of Edmonton website to familiarize yourself with all the road closures and parking restrictions that may affect your plans. If you want to view the fireworks from home, the city will be livestreaming them on YouTube.
