Luminaria is unlike any other holiday event in the Edmonton area. Enjoy the quiet beauty of thousands of glimmering candles along the pathways of the Kurimoto Japanese Garden, or delight in the animated musical light display in the Aga Khan Garden. Wander the snowy paths, illuminated by candlelight, firelight, and starlight, while listening to the seasonal sounds of strolling a cappella singers. Can you picture anything more magical?

As you make your way through the Gardens, keep your eyes peeled for a glimpse of the whimsical Snow Sprites or the captivating Snow Queen! Admire intricately carved ice sculptures and celebrate Indigenous experience through the latest artistic work by Jason Carter. Light a candle on Memory Lane to honour a loved one, or send a message of hope to the world on the Wish Tree. There are so many unique and meaningful experiences to be had during this winter light festival.

As you stroll through Luminaria, warm yourself with a free hot apple cider, or indulge in a signature drink at the Ice Bar. Warm food and drink will also be available for purchase during the event at the Patio Cafe. Please note that all indoor spaces, including the gift shop will be closed (washrooms excluded).
