The best things in life are FREE! We are big fans of store make-and-take events that offer us the chance to get out of the house and enjoy a fun activity with the kids. From LEGO builds and storytimes to crafts and woodworking projects, the kids are always excited to get creative and get their hands on a new treasure to bring home!
Many stores now offer kid-friendly events, so we have rounded up all our favourite spots to watch for FREE (and almost free) events we know your kids will love!
Home Depot Kids’ Workshops
Build some fun with your local Home Depot store! On the second Saturday of every month there is a FREE wood-working project for the kids aged 5-12 (and their parents!) to create using glue, hammers, and paint. These popular events fill up FAST, so make sure to check here for full details on how to reserve your spot!
Indigo/Chapters Kids Events
Join Indigo Kids for story time fun, crafts, and goodies throughout the year! These FREE in-store events feature popular children’s books, characters, and toys. Watch for the latest Indigo Kids events to be listed here.
LEGO Store Make-and-Take Events
If you have a LEGO fan in your house, you need to know about the Make-and-Take events at the LEGO stores in Southgate Centre and West Edmonton Mall! Mastermind Toys is another great spot to watch for FREE events and in-store activities! Each month they put out a full calendar of events including storytimes, scavenger hunts, creative challenges, FREE make-and-takes, and MORE.
Michaels Craft Stores Sunday Makebreak
