Inquisitive kids can learn more about Alberta’s history with Summer Camps at the Royal Alberta Museum! Each week-long camp offers opportunities to discover all things wild, try out ancient technology, and dig into the rich cultural and natural history of our province.
Summer Camps at the Royal Alberta Museum are open to kids aged seven to twelve. Camp days will be spent exploring all their favourite museum exhibits and beyond! Not only will they get to see all the sparkly rocks, live bugs, dinos, and wildlife dioramas they know and love, but campers will also enjoy an in-depth look at how RAM operates. Days will be spent learning from the museum experts with behind-the-scenes activities, hands-on exploration of REAL museum objects and specimens, gallery storytelling, and plenty of crafts and games!

Mammoth Makers
Ages 8-12 | July 7-11 or July 21-25
Unleash your imagination and bring your ideas to life in this creativity-packed week! Aspiring designers and architects will explore fun topics like how to build a beaver dam, what it takes to create a museum diorama, or what clothing design was like in the 1950’s. Get ready to dream, build, craft, and explore where your imagination can take you!
L’atelier d’imagination
8 à 12 ans | 14 au 18 juillet
Libérez votre imagination et donnez vie à vos idées au cours de cette semaine riche en créativité ! Les designers et architectes en herbe exploreront des sujets amusants comme la construction d’un barrage de castor, ce qu’il faut pour créer un diorama de musée ou à quoi ressemblait la conception de vêtements dans les années 1950. Natural Investigators
Ages 7-9 | July 28-August 1
Discover all things wild at the Royal Alberta Museum! This camp week will feature animal discoveries from millions of years ago to today, from the depths of the oceans to our wide-open plains. Highlights of this camp include meeting real experts, caring for live animals, and uncovering amazing secrets of how animals thrive in their environments.
Aventures animales
7 à 9 ans | 5 au 8 août
Découvrez toutes les choses sauvages au Musée royal de l’Alberta! Cette semaine de camp présentera des découvertes d’animaux d’il y a des millions d’années à aujourd’hui, des profondeurs des océans jusqu’à nos vastes plaines. RAMologists
Ages 10-12 | August 11-15 or August 18-22
Become a RAMologist as you investigate everything the museum has to offer! Discover ancient archeological tools, uncover uncover fascinating stories hidden in bones like a palaeontologist, and put on your zoologist hat to explore the wonders of Alberta’s wildlife. This camp will include opportunities to go behind the scenes of RAM, meet real-life experts, and explore further through creative hands-on projects. * Camp includes potential field trips to downtown attractions
Register today through the Royal Alberta Museum website. Space is limited to just 15 children per camp, so secure your spot now. If you are a RAM Mammoth Pass holder, be sure to also read how you can take advantage of additional savings on camp fees!
Each camp will run daily from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with an additional half hour of pre and post-camp care for convenience. Campers will be required to bring their own packed lunch, or can opt in for a week of lunches provided by the Museum Café for $60. Campers should come dressed for the weather and prepared to have fun both indoors and out!
