It’s no secret that children learn through play. St. Albert Family Resource Centre Preschool is the ideal play-based environment for kids aged 3 to 5 to begin their formal education! Children will enjoy fun and exciting hands-on learning experiences that offer growth in all areas of development: gross motor, fine motor, sensory, math, science, literacy, music, dramatic play, creativity and social.
Students enjoy a wide range of activities, with ever-changing themes, centered in the large, bright program room. A typical day includes: Circle Time, where children get the chance to speak publicly through lessons about about weather, letters, numbers, colours, calendar and participate in show and share; Creative Play, where students get to explore and use their imagination; Crafts, which offer fine motor work as well as opportunities to share, problem solve and grow creatively; Snack time, and Gross Motor Activities, including regular outdoor play on the playground. Field trips are also incorporated into the curriculum.
Choosing St. Albert Family Resource Centre Preschool gives families the additional benefit of a membership to the resource centre, which offers access to all its programs and courses, including the services of a Parent Coach. Kindergarten Readiness testing is also offered for children who are planning to enter kindergarten after completing the preschool program.
The St. Albert Family Resource Centre Preschool program is offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9:20 am to 11:20 am, or afternoons from 1 pm to 3 pm for students aged 3 to 5. Parent volunteers are welcome in the classroom, but duty hours are not mandated. Fundraising programs are implemented to help keep tuition fees affordable, and families are encouraged to participate in at least one per year. Registration is open for the 2022/2023 school year!
