Spring Break is a great opportunity to branch out and have some fun trying something new! For the musically inclined, Spring Break Camps at the Winspear are the perfect chance to try out a new stringed instrument and have some hands-on musical fun throughout the week.
Spring Break Camp at the Winspear is open to ages 6 to 12 and offers the choice of either violin or ukulele instruction. During the camp week, each day will include ample time for learning and playing the instrument of choice, plus art activities, singing, and dancing. Your budding musician will also get to enjoy the benefits of spending time in a world-class performance space with tours of the Winspear Centre, possible interactions with professional musicians, and the opportunity to listen to the incredible concert organ. It will be five fantastic days of musical exploration, games, and new friends!
Each camp is led by a friendly, musical professional from the Winspear team. Lilian Belknap will take the reigns on the violin and Stephanie Jolly is ready to lead the charge on the ukelele. You can read more about both these incredible instructors here.
Camps will run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm daily for the week of March 27 to 31, 2023. No experience is necessary and all musical instruments will be provided. To wrap up the week-long experience, the young musicians will take part in an exciting concert showcase to share what they have learned with family and friends.
