The winter months are stacked with fun outdoor events in neighborhoods throughout the city! We have rounded up several fun winter celebrations being hosted by Community Leagues around Edmonton, with plenty more to be added in the upcoming weeks. Mark your calendar and get out to enjoy the sleigh rides, skating, crafts, and more at each of these fun events.
Winter Celebrations
Woodcroft Community League Winter Festival Cancelled due to cold weather
January 19 | Visit the Woodcroft Community Centre for a day of fun including cross-country skis, snowshoes, ice skates, and kicksleds available to try out (first come, first serve) plus hot chocolate and hot dogs.
FREE Outdoor Skate with the Edmonton Oil Kings
January 22 | Strap on your skates at the Orchards Residents Association for your chance to skate with the Edmonton Oil Kings! This FREE event is open to everyone and will kick off with a card signing at 5:00 pm.
Hazeldean Lantern Parade
January 25 | Bring an empty 2L bottle, milk jug, or other clear container to the hall to create your own lantern, then join in an evening stroll through the community. Hot chocolate and apple cider, and donuts will be provided!
Laurier Heights Community League Winter Fun Day
January 25 | Sleigh rides, crafts, hot chocolate, skating, snow painting, and bannock making.
Willowby Community League Winter Festival
January 25 | A family skating party, plus snowshoeing, sleigh rides, face painting, balloon art, glitter tattoos, hot dogs, hot chocolate, and live music from K4TGR4M.
Walker Lake Park Community Ice Rink Sip N’ Skate
January 26 | Join the Horizon Community League at Walker Lake Park for an evening of music, skating, hockey, warm beverages and snacks.

Allard Community League Annual Winter Fun Fest
February 1 | Embrace the winter season with sleigh rides, skating, hot chocolate, and popcorn.

February 1 | Head to the Horizon Community League Park for a full afternoon of fun with sleigh rides, fire pits, sledding, and games.
Greater Windermere Community League Winter Fest
February 2 | Join the GWCL in Washburn Park for sleigh rides, hot chocolate, maple shack, skating and crafts.
CDRS Winterfest
February 2 | Head to Castle Downs Park Pavilion for a sleigh ride, snowshoeing, skating, and hot cocoa.
Holyrood Winter Fest
February 9 | Join the outdoor celebration in Holyrood Park with skating, hot chocolate & apple cider, and horse-drawn wagon rides (with valid community league membership).
The Ridge Community League Winter Festival
February 15 | Find an afternoon of fun in Haddow Park including horse-drawn sleigh rides, skating, sledding, snowshoeing, milk-jug curling, indoor/outdoor games, and food trucks.
Sherbrooke Community League Sleigh Ride Events
February 15 | Sleigh rides, plus free hot chocolate, coffee, and winter treats.
Family Day Fireworks Celebration in Meadowlark
February 16 | Enjoy winter fun with the Meadowlark Community League including horse-drawn sleigh rides, skating, and food available for purchase, capped off by a fireworks show at 7:00 PM!

February 16 | McQueen Community League is hosting this exciting afternoon of horse wagon rides and skating, topped off with an evening fireworks display (7 PM).

February 17 | Join the Royal Gardens Community League for snowshoeing, sledding, skating, ice sledging, sleigh rides, hot chocolate, and s’mores.
Glastonbury Community League Family Day in the Park
February 17 | Celebrate Family Day in Glastonbury Park with skating, sleigh rides, and bannock over the fire.
Glenora Community League Winter Carnival
February 22 | A full day of fun with skating, snow painting, snowshoeing, chili, marshmallows and bannock over the fire, maple taffy for purchase, and FIREWORKS at 6:45.
Sherwood Heights Community League Winter Carnival
March 8 | The Sherwood Heights community in Sherwood Park will host their annual Winter Carnival with horse drawn wagon rides, skating, face painting, snacks, and visits with Princess and Superhero friends.
