It’s that time of year again… we are ‘Lighting Up HRM’! From Halifax to Bedford, Fall River to Dartmouth and everywhere in between, these are the best Christmas lights in HRM. Hundreds of staples, thousands of tie wraps and millions of ooh’s and aah’s later, we are ‘Lighting up Halifax, Dartmouth and Beyond’.
The only way to truly enjoy the holiday sights and sounds of Downtown Halifax is by bundling up and taking a stroll. DELIGHTFUL DOWNTOWN is a winter light program that includes vivid light shows, striking installations, and many illuminated areas throughout the Downtown core.
The Evergreen Festival returns for it’s 3rd season and brings with it live entertainment and incredible light displays. The Festival’s Evergreen Bright, is a walkable outdoor trail of twinkling holiday light displays and installations along the Halifax waterfront, throughout Downtown Halifax, Downtown Dartmouth, and beyond.
Nothing says the holidays quite like the majestically lit Christmas Tree. Santa is going to be busy helping to light all the trees in HRM but if anyone can do it, it’s Santa! Join in the festive fun at these Tree Lighting Ceremonies. You can expect live music, loads of fun and, of course, lots of lights!
Public Gardens Be sure to take a stroll through the Halifax Public Gardens between November 26th, 2022 and January 1st, 2023. It will be aglow with a festive trail of holiday lights every evening between the hours of 5:00 – 9:00pm.
Glow Gardens Glow Gardens is returning to Halifax for another fantastic season of magic and entertainment for the whole family. Step inside this extravagant, multi-room installation and be transported into a world where your family’s imagination can run wild.
The 2022 Menorah Lighting Everyone is welcome to attend this ceremony along with the local Jewish community as they celebrate the Festival of Light.
Lights of Downtown Dartmouth – Downtown Dartmouth is getting merry and bright with beautiful holiday lights, murals, and window displays at different downtown locations including Sullivan’s Pond and the Alderney Landing.
Christmas Lights of Dartmouth – This Facebook page is dedicated to collecting the most spectacular Christmas lights on homes throughout HRM.
Anderson’s Christmas Lights Display – this home has become ‘Hali-Famous’ in Fall River. Their 3500 lights are choreographed to 4 different songs and are sure to get you in the holiday spirit.
Wolfville Glows – this is a month-long holiday celebration of fabulous festivities to celebrate the best of the holiday season.
Lobster trap Christmas Tree – It’s a tradition! Watch the Lobster Trap Christmas Tree at the Cape Sable Island Causeway light up for the 2022/2023 holiday season.

DELIGHTFUL DOWNTOWN is a light program created by the Downtown Halifax Business Commission (DHBC). This time of year, there are special winter and holiday-themed light shows and projections taking place throughout the city, and we promise you will stumble upon holiday magic with every turn.
With twinkling light displays along the Halifax Waterfront and throughout Downtown you may come out for the lights, but stay for the fun. Downtown Halifax is vibrant and exciting with lots of activities for the whole family to enjoy.
The days may be getting shorter, but that just means more time for holiday magic!
