It’s time to celebrate Canada Day, and many special events are happening in Halifax and Dartmouth.
Halifax Citadel National Historic Site: Enjoy FREE entry from 9 AM – 5 PM and a Canada Day cake will be served!
Canadian Museum of Immigration: From 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM, there will be special activities and FREE entry. Read more about it here.
Royal NS International Tattoo Canada Day Parade: There’s a parade through downtown Halifax at 10 AM, and there will be band performances on the Halifax waterfront from 10:30 – 11:30 AM. Read more about the Tattoo here.
Halifax Commons Family Day: From 11 AM – 10 PM, enjoy a full day of FREE skating, swimming, children’s games, and bouncy castles.
Mawio’mi on the Halifax Oval: From 11 AM – 5 PM, enjoy traditional art, games, and performances from our indigenous communities.
Canada Day Drumming Celebration: At the Dartmouth Ferry Terminal Park, you can watch the Canada Day Drumming Celebration from 12-4 PM.
Desi Summer Music Fest: A FREE concert and celebration of global beats from around the world, held at the Halifax Waterfront Sands at Salter main stage from 6-10 PM.
ANSMA Canada Day Concert: Also at the Dartmouth Ferry Terminal, you’ll find the ANSMA (African Nova Scotian Music Association) Canada Day Concert from 6-10 PM.
Canada Day Fireworks: End the day with fireworks over the harbour at 10 pm!
