It is time to get cozy, have fun and celebrate the many cultures and experiences of people in Canada and Mi’kma’ki. The Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 is inviting kids of all ages to wear their favourite pyjamas and bring their biggest appetites to the Pancake Pyjama Party.

This unique event is part of the Canadian Museum of History’s travelling exhibition, Kids Celebrate!, a lively series of events that enable children to discover the importance and diversity of cultural celebrations in Canada. Providing children with the ability to explore the celebrations that bring families together will give them a sense of belonging and caring for others.

Your little cuddle bug will be dressed in their comfiest jammies, totally at ease and ready to participate in some important social and emotional learning. The Pancake Pyjama Party is a day full of fun festivities and special moments that will help children and families reflect on the beauty of Canadian diversity.

There will be a number of engaging activities throughout the day including book readings, teddy bear chats, and did we mention…pancakes? Imagine how excited your child will be when they meet a real-life author. There will be four children’s authors on-site offering readings from their very own books. Speaking of story telling, Fenton the Teddy Bear will also be there to share the story of his immigration to Canada. This exciting event will kick off at 10:00am with a pancake breakfast and demonstrations of griddle cakes from near and far.

Grab your slippers and your pyjamas and be sure to leave room for pancakes!
