Do you have a debater in your family? The Saskatchewan Elocution and Debate Association (SEDA) is holding a summer speech and debate camp open to students in grades 5 to 9. Campers will learn how to be empathetic and critical thinkers and they will learn how to analyze both sides of an issue. Kids attending camp will understand and value the power of words. This will be the perfect camp if your children are interested in learning about speech and debate in a friendly learning environment. Students will build confidence and develop critical analysis and persuasive speaking skills. The camp leaders recognize each camper is at a different stage of learning.

Summer Speach and Debate Camp Details:

What can your kids expect? Campers who are brand new to debate or public speaking can expect classes designed to cover the basics of speech and debate. In contrast, those with some debate experience will enjoy classes that build on their existing knowledge and enhance their skills.

Every day at debate camp is a little different. Campers can expect days focused on individual skills, group games and activities, and many opportunities to practice their newly acquired skills!

Campers:

The camp is designed for students in grades 5 to 9 with 0 to 2 years of speech and debate experience. Campers will need to bring bagged lunches for Monday through Thursday. They have access to a fridge but not a microwave. Campers must bring a reusable water bottle.
