Coquitlam recognizes that Canada Day can mean different things for different members of our community. As a result, the City has adapted the July 1 event to provide a day that is sensitive to the diverse range of community perspectives. Canada Day in Coquitlam is a safe and inclusive family-friendly event with a wide range of entertainment, multicultural performances, fireworks, food, fun activities and opportunities to learn more about Canadian and pre-colonial Indigenous history.

Family-Friendly Activities
The 8,000-square-metre (86,000-square-foot) festival lawn near the TD Community Plaza will be home to:
- Adventure Games – Stop by for exciting, quick and fun active games for a variety of ages, skills and abilities from Houle Game & Entertainment.
- Eco Zone – Join the City’s environmental and parks groups, and local environmental organizations for fun and interactive environmental activities and face painting.
- Coquitlam Lane – Snap a photo in the giggle booth and learn about the City’s recreation, parks, multicultural, and first response services. Coquitlam’s Tree Spree team will be on-site with free tree giveaways.
- The Meadow – Enjoy engaging displays and activities from Coquitlam’s cultural organizations and local businesses. Don’t miss the variety of high-quality artisan items for sale. The Meadow Stage, sponsored by PARC Living, will feature cultural music performances throughout the day.
- Inspiration Garden – Visit the Tree Spree hub at the Inspiration Garden. Take part in a Nature Discovery scavenger hunt; learn about invasive species with the Coquitlam Bad Seed team; participate in some tree-rific activities, including a free tree giveaway; snap a photo with Sparky at our pollinator selfie station; learn about Coquitlam’s tree canopy from a City Arborist; and much more.
- Coquitlam Public Library – Visit the Library Link bus in parking lot D to learn more about Canada’s Indigenous history and educational programming.
Food and Drink
Stop by Eat Street, sponsored by Journey Auto Group, from 12 – 10 p.m. to find exciting and affordable food options from a variety of different culinary styles. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options are available.
Mariner Brewing will be on-site in Brew Corner providing beer service from 1 – 9 p.m. B.C. liquor regulations will be strictly enforced.
