Food Truck Drive Experience

Enjoy a variety of food options at this food truck experience.  Pick-up your food, bring a blanket and enjoy a picnic on the nearby grass field, at a local park or at home.  There will be something for everyone from desserts to snacks to meals. We are excited to feature eight unique food trucks from 11:00 am – 7:00 pm.  Parking is available at the old New Westminster Secondary School and can be accessed from Eighth Street near Dublin Avenue.  The entrance will be located on Tenth Avenue.  We encourage you to walk or ride, and to enjoy an outdoor picnic.

The following food trucks will be participating: All About the Grill, Aloha Poke, Dim Sum Express, Fusion Icy, Hunky Bills, Lemon Heaven, TLC Poutine and Mini Donut Factory.

New West Farmers Market

Bring your family to Tipperary park and join us at the New West Farmers Market on July 1st for an extended market and picnic day! Family Yoga in the Park

Come start your July 1 with our Family Fun Yoga in the park. What better good morning than with an a-ha moment. Classes will take place in Moody Park (South Field) and Ryall Park at 10:00 am and run for 30 minutes. Participants should come dressed ready to go, towel or mat, and pre filled water bottle. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Please note that you must be 6+ and classes will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather.

Wander the Park

Explore Queen’s Park in a new way through this fun, FREE, and interactive experience. This immersive activity encourages people to explore the park, reflect upon its history and reimagine what it could have been if others were part of its design.  Access digital activities using your smartphone and QR codes. Look for the sign on the Millennium Trail near Third Street to start your exploration.

Circus Arts Downtown

Explore the downtown area on Canada Day and you may discover a surprise – Circus Art! In partnership with the Downtown New West BIA, a variety of performers from Vancouver Circus School will be roving the streets and moving around the downtown area. Check out the talent, support local businesses and explore the Downtown area!  July 1 is also the kick-off of Quest New West, which is a month long scavenger hunt presented by the Downtown BIA. Concert in the Park with Will’s Jams

A free, family friendly, concert in the park. Will Stoet of Will’s Jams is a JUNO-nominated musician, nationally recognized educator and former CBC Kids TV star. His performance in English and French is full of witty wordplay and sing-along choruses, inspiring kids to be active, creative, caring and community-minded. The concerts will take place rain-or-shine at the Queen’s Park Stadium. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets, lawn chairs, beverages and snacks. There will be no food sold at the concert. Each group of concert goers will have a small area to call their own while enjoying the concert. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Please note that all attendees, including babies and children must be registered.
