MINE

We LOVE the creativity of the arts organizations! Family Fun Vancouver is doing our utmost to source events for families during the social-distancing times of COVID-19. We are THRILLED to announce that the Cultch is offering LIVE streaming of their production of MINE. While the streaming is being offered for FREE, the Cultch is asking viewers consider making a donation. As we all know, the arts and entertainment sector is being heavily impacted by COVID-19 and if you have a little bit of wiggle room in your personal budget, consider supporting the sector that is offering entertainment to all of us at home.

Here’s when you can watch:

Thursday, March 19 at 7pm
Friday, March 20 at 7pm
Saturday, March 21 at 2pm

Here’s how you can watch:

Tune in to Theatre Replacement’s Facebook page to watch on Facebook Live OR check out T/R’s Twitch channel.

Here’s what you expect to see:

On stage, a group of gamer/performers aged 11 to 46 enact different mother-son narratives—from the Beowulf saga, to Bambi, to The Terminator—using the video game Minecraft. Inspired by the real-life relationship between Theatre Replacement’s Co-artistic Director, Maiko Yamamoto, and her 11-year-old son, Hokuto, and his obsession with Minecraft. MINE is live-operated from start to finish, and opens us up to expansive new territories in an intergenerational performance that both interrogates and recognizes the role technology plays in our modern parent-child relationships.

Please note: As we all know, things are changing every day. The Cultch’s plan is to move forward, while also doing their utmost to ensure the safety and health of our team. Please stay tuned to The Cultch and Theatre Replacement’s social media for updates on these plans as things continue to unfold.
