The Sounds of the City concert, taking place on Sunday, June 18, 2023, is for all ages and features both the VSO School of Music’s Big Band, a large jazz ensemble led by Dan Hersog, and the Azalea Chinese Music Ensemble, directed by Zhimin Yu. Attendees can also enjoy original compositions in various musical styles by our students and faculty, as well as classical, jazz, and traditional Chinese chamber music. Additionally, the audience will be warmed up and entertained by emcee Leah Field.
