Is there a well-loved teddy bear in your household? Maybe it’s time for a check-up! Bring your kids and their favourite stuffed animals out for a BEARY-Y special day. The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo Teddy Bear Clinic will light up your little ones, while you support animal conservation.

Teddy Bear Clinic

On October 11, 2025, head to the zoo for the sweetest morning of TLC, learning, and fun. For a $5 donation per toy, teddy bears will receive the full health care experience, from a dedicated intake and triage team to health checks, custom prescriptions, and more. There will even be stitching stations for the ‘patients’ who need a little extra love! And if you have a young veterinarian-to-be, they can explore the animal ambulance and chat with the zoo’s Animal Health experts to learn how they care for the animals at the zoo.

The zoo’s dedicated animal health experts, educators, and volunteers will walk children through the importance of regular medical care for both animals and people (and teddy bears!), as they demystify a visit to the doctor’s office. It’s a relaxed, informative experience, plus, it supports a great cause!

The Teddy Bear Clinic is open to zoo members only from 9 – 11 AM. General admission runs from 11 AM – 1 PM, and a daily ticket is required for zoo entrance if you don’t have a zoo membership. And dress for the weather, as animal care happens rain or shine!

The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo Teddy Bear Clinic is more than just a charming check-up for those beloved stuffed animals. It’s also a chance for your family to enjoy a fall day together, with hands-on activities. You’ll spark curiosity about health and welfare and create lasting memories. Don’t miss this adorable event, filled with makeovers, photo opportunities, and a peek into the world of animal care!

The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo is a family favourite for both tourists and locals. Spread over 125 acres, with over 100 unique animal species, the Zoo is a diverse and lovely place to visit all year round. Playgrounds, shops and concessions, gardens, and special events mean there’s always something to enjoy. The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo is passionate about wildlife conservation and preserving wild places for generations to come. They are an internationally recognized leader in the science of saving endangered species, and when you support the zoo, you become a partner in conservation.
